Effective February 1st, ABITEC Corporation will launch a brand new website with some exciting new features.

ABITEC Corporation which has been in the ingredients business since the 1960s has recently participated in a website redesign along with parent company ABF Ingredients. The redesign enables customers to more efficently find information about ABITEC's history, product line, technical support and recently updated contact information. Some key features of the new website:

Brand new Sample Request form includes all ABITEC products.
New Enquiry page allows visitors to ask questions through the ease of e-mail.
Product Line page provides a complete listing of all ABITEC product lines as well as links to view all products within a specific line.
Guests can now register to receive access to all MSDS sheets as well as copies of ABITEC's Certification documents.

ABITEC's hope is that guests will find the new site easy to use and very informative.

ABITEC Corporation was featured in an article entitled “Novel Materials Abound at NYSCC Supplier's Day”. The article can be found in Happi's June 2007 issue, Volume 44, No. 6.

The article focused on this year's special giveaway at Supplier's Day, ABITEC's Moisture Rich Lotion and Lip Balm gift sets. These gift sets were specially formulated to highlight ABITEC's Captex SBE and ABI-Latum SC, part of ABITEC's natural vegetable-based alternatives line.

Captex SBE (Caprylic/Capric/Stearic Triglyceride) is a vegetable-based ester that can extend the feel of shea butter and other specialty butters in personal care products. Captex SBE can be used to replace up to 50% of vegetable butters without any noticeable difference in feel or shine. This non-hydrogenated, structured lipid comes from non-GMO vegetable sources and leaves an elegant, non-greasy, long lasting feel to moisturizers and conditioners.

ABI-Latum SC is a vegetable based natural alternative to petrolatum. It is a Kosher blend that has a less greasy skin feel than petrolatum. It can be directly substituted for petrolatum in personal care formulations.

ABITEC has recently expanded its manufacturing capabilities to include a climate controlled pastillation unit. The unit is capable of producing 1,000 pounds of pastillated product per hour. The molten starting material is sprayed onto a chilling belt and the fused material is deposited into pails, although other containers are possible.The equipment is housed in an environmentally controlled clean room, and all pastillating operations follow GMP requirements. The free flowing end product has already proven to be popular for manufacturers who prefer a pre-dosed measured amount.
