Captex® 500
Captex 500 is glyceryl triacetate, also known as triacetin. Captex 500 is an excellent solvent and fixative for flavors and fragrances. It is soluble in water and miscible with alcohol and oils. Captex 500 is a GRAS food ingredient under 21 CFR 184.1901 and is also approved under the Food Chemicals Codex (1996), the United States Pharmacopeia (2000), and has also received Kosher Approval.
