Dr. Kishor M. Wasan

Chief Medical and Science Officer at Skymount Medical US Inc.


Currently a Distinguished University Scholar Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Co-Director/Co-Founder of the Neglected Global Diseases Initiative at the University of British Columbia. He is also the Chief Medical and Science Officer of Skymount Medical US Inc. a company dedicated to the development of new therapeutics for emerging infectious diseases.
Dr. Wasan has published over 240 peer-reviewed articles and 280 abstracts in the area of lipid-based drug delivery and lipoprotein-drug interactions. He has won many prestigious awards and is a fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Most recently, Dr. Wasan served as the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan from August 2014 to June 2019. Dr. Wasan led the research team at the Wasan lab at the University of British Columbia in the development of an oral formulation of amphotericin B.

Dr. John K. Tillotson

B.S. in Pharmacy from Ferris State University and Ph.D. in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Tillotson’s primary areas of interest are self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDS), tableted SEDDS, lipid-based drug delivery, quick dissolve tablet technologies, directly compressible modalities, wet and dry granulation, spray-drying, and multiple-regression analysis. He was involved with the development and optimization of bumetanide sustained release technologies has formulated several quick dissolve systems for nutraceuticals, OTC products, and prescription products. He has authored patents for the development of orally-dissolving tableting and powder systems. His published papers discuss the use of multiple-response optimization and the benefits of SEDDS, lipid-based drug delivery, solid lipid nanoparticles, and various ODT excipient systems. He is a member of the Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Honor Society and of AAPS.
