Suppositories
The optimal formulation of the suppository dosage form requires ingredients, in which the active can be dissolved or suspended, and ingredients that also meet a specific set of melting point requirements for both manufacturing unit operations and active release upon delivery of the suppository. ABITEC’s functional suppository ingredients are designed to meet simultaneously the manufacturing, carrier, and release requirements of suppository dosage forms.
ABITEC's hydrogenated vegetable oils are refined, bleached, and deodorized. They are typically inert towards active ingredients. These functional lipids are ideal for the manufacture of suppositories due to their unique melt properties and excellent stability. They offer excellent mold-release functionality and can be used as a replacement to cocoa butter where their smooth texture and narrow melting range are essential.
